Unlike their hockey counterparts, the Lakehead women’s volleyball team knows how to complete a weekend sweep.

Unlike their hockey counterparts, the Lakehead women’s volleyball team knows how to complete a weekend sweep.

The Wolves took out the Waterloo Warriors in three straight games on Saturday, downing their opponent 25-20, 25-22 and 22-15 to cement their place in the OUA playoff race, improving to 5-8 on the season.

Vanessa Chorkaway led LU with 15 kills, six digs and two solo blocks, while setter Sarah Hudson finished with 39 assists.

It’s the most wins the Thunderwolves have strung together in a single season since 2005-06, when they wound up with a 7-12 record.
Eighth-place Lakehead hosts Guelph next Saturday at the Thunderdome at 2 p.m.
