The Thunder Bay Chill will start the 2013 season on the road.

The Premier Development soccer club, which has made the playoffs for six straight seasons, heads to Winnipeg on May 25 for their opener, the first of a two-game set.

The Chill’s home opener is slated for the following Saturday, on June 1, when Heartland Division rival Des Moines pays a visit for a game at Chapples Park. That's the same night of the home opener for baseball's Thunder Bay Border Cats of the Northwoods League at Port Arthur Stadium.

The Chill host St. Louis on June 7 and 8.

Also on the home schedule are Springfield (June 22 and 23) and Winnipeg (July 19 and 20).

Because the league has downgraded from 16 games to 14 per team, the Chill will only play seven regular-season home games.

The team announced it will be playing exhibition home games on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 and another in either late June or early July, a four-week stretch the Chill have no games scheduled.
