The Lakehead Thunderwolves volleyball team has added one new piece to the puzzle for next season.

The Thunderwolves officially announced their first recruitment of the off-season, snagging Ottawa-product Leah Mousseau.

“Leah brings the kind of competitive spirit and skill set we desire here at LU,” Lakehead head coach Chris Green said in a media release.

“This young lady has the intent and ability to be a difference maker, and we are extremely fortunate she has chosen our program.”

Mousseau played at the club level most recently on the U18 Maverick Shotguns, where she served as a power and libero. Her profile page on the club’s website lists her at a height of 5’6”.

Mousseau will wear No. 12 next season, replacing graduating fifth-year senior Jorie Daymond, who was also from the nation’s capital.

In addition to Daymond, the Thunderwolves will lose the services of fellow fifth-year graduates Sarah Reid and Brittany McLeod.
