Andrew Scavarelli will have a three-shot cushion heading into Monday’s final round of the 2014 Canadian Tire District Amateur Championship.

The 2007 winner shot a two-under 70 Sunday at Strathcona Golf Course to leapfrog Round 1 leaders Jeremy Kirk and Joe Scharf, who fired identical three-over 75s on Day 2 for two-day totals of 142.

Rob Atatise, defending champion Brett Shewchuk and Mark Willianen are one shot further back at 143.

Round 3 is scheduled for Monday at Whitewater Golf Club.
