STONEY CREEK, Ont. -- The first tournament action of the season ended sooner than the Thunder Bay Queens would have liked.
The midget AA Queens fell 4-0 to the AAA West Coast Avalanche of British Columbia in their quarterfinal game at the 10th annual Sabres Showcase in Stoney Creek.
The Avalanche took the lead three minutes into the contest with Jessie Sanghe notching what would hold up to be the game winner.
That lead was padded with three more tallies in the second period that eventually chased Queens netminder Bailey Chenier.
