Hogan, Doornick big off bench, Wolves stomp Lakers

Ashaunti Hogan and Ryan Doornick came off the bench Friday night and powered the Lakehead Thunderwolves to an easy win over the Nipissing Lakers.

Ashaunti Hogan and Ryan Doornick came off the bench Friday night and powered the Lakehead Thunderwolves to an easy win over the Nipissing Lakers.

Hogan scored 17 points and Doornick added 16 of his own as Lakehead cruised to a 92-49 road win in North Bay.

Anthony McIntosh, Bacarius Dinkins and Dwayne Harvey also hit double digits for Lakehead (2-3). Marcus Lewis, with 17, was the lone Lakers player to cross the threshold.

Lakehead opened a 24-4 lead after the opening quarter and outscored their opponent in each subsequent period, taking a 42-16 advantage into the second half.

Dinkins had a game-high 13 rebounds for Lakehead, which evened its record at 3-3, good for a tie for second with Guelph in the OUA Central.

Nipissing fell to 0-5.

The Wolves head to Sudbury on Saturday where they’ll take on Laurentian (2-4).
