Fort Frances 15th in final CJHL rankings of 2014

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced its final Pointstreak Top 20 rankings for 2014 Monday and the front runners of the Superior International Junior Hockey League is in the mix.

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The  Canadian Junior Hockey League announced its final Pointstreak Top 20 rankings for 2014 Monday and the front runners of the Superior International Junior Hockey League is in the mix.

The first place Fort Frances Lakers, leaders atop the SIJHL standings, were rated 15th in the 129-team CJHL in the rankings, which are compliled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Fort Frances has won five games in a row and have also gone 12-2 in their past 14 outings to hold down top spot in the league with a 22-7-0-1 overall record.

Boasting a league-best .750 winning percentage the Lakers sit five points ahead of second place Thunder Bay and also hold three games in hand on the North Stars.

The top three teams in the CJHL remain the same for yet another week as the Portage Terriers (MJHL), Camrose Kodiaks (AJHL) and Penticton Vees (BCHL) were ranked first, second and third respectively.

The following is the Pointstreak CJHL top 20 rankings along with five honourable mention teams for the period ending Dec. 21:
