Hawks split at Keystone Cup, will play for bronze

COLD LAKE, ALTA. -- A Saturday split means the Thunder Bay Northern Hawks will play for bronze at the Keystone Cup.

The Northern Ontario Junior B champs fell 5-2 to B.C.’s Campbell River Storm in their opening match on Saturday, before rebounding over the North Edmonton Red Wings.

Taylor Santorelli and Alex Vaillant scored for the Hawks in the loss. Morgan McKay had a pair in the win over Edmonton. Thunder Bay’s other goals came from Ryan Gleeson, Ryan Delvecchio and Kevin Galley.

The Hawks (2-2-1) will take on Saskatoon in Sunday’s third-place game.
