McDonald leads Thunder Bay contingent at Boston Marathon

BOSTONT -- The city's first seven runners at Monday's Boston Marathon have crossed the finish line. Veteran marathon runner Ryan McDonald was the first to finish the 26.

BOSTONT -- The city's first seven runners at Monday's Boston Marathon have crossed the finish line. 

Veteran marathon runner Ryan McDonald was the first to finish the 26.2-mile race, breaking the three-hour mark with a time of 2:58:37, placing the 41-year-old 4,544th overall. 

Next up was Thunder Bay's James Shippam, who raced through the gruelling course in 3:03:57. Chris Fralick was the third member of the 16-person strong local contingent to finish the race, clocking in at 3:11:28. 

Next up was Edward Holbik, who wound up with a 3:19:25 time, while Marcia Migay was the first Thunder Bay woman to complete the course, in 3:22:43. 

John Hawkins crossed in 3:28:29, while Dougall Media's own Barry George impressed with a 3:31:06 time, placing him 948th in the 50-54 age category. 

Carolyn Weiss, Keli Cristofaro, Deb Frederickson and Diana Mellerup still remain on course.
