The Lakehead Thunderwolves continue to bolster their blue-line.

The OUA hockey squad on Monday announced Jake Ringuette, a fifth-year defenceman with the Ontario Hockey League’s Saginaw Spirit, has agreed to join the team in 2015-16.

I’m happy to say that I will be a Thunderwolf next season and I'm really excited to be part of this team and the university,” the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Ringuette said in a release issued on Monday.

A native of Goderich, Ont., Ringuette had nine goals and 15 assists in 65 games for the Spirit – the team he spent his entire major junior career with – last season.

He suits the Thunderwolves needs, coach Bill McDonald said.

“Jake is a well-rounded blue-liner who competes at a high level and has the desire to win,” McDonald said.   “Plus he adds a tremendous amount of depth to our defensive corps.”
