Chill snap two-game losing streak in Chicago

The Thunder Bay Chill are in control of their playoff destiny. The Premier Development League club on Wednesday snapped a two-game losing slide, downing the Chicago Fire U-23s 2-0 on the road to retake top spot in the Heartland Division.

The Premier Development League club on Wednesday snapped a two-game losing slide, downing the Chicago Fire U-23s 2-0 on the road to retake top spot in the Heartland Division.

Chicago, with a game in hand, slipped four points back of the Chill, who are a point up on Des Moines, but have played two more games than the Menace.

Strikers Brandon Swartzendruber and Sullivan Silva scored Thunder Bay’s goals, both coming in the first half of play in the matinee affair.

Chicago will look to exact a little revenge and avoid falling further out of the race when the land in Thunder Bay on Wednesday for a rematch.

Thunder Bay finishes with a pair at home against Winnipeg on July 17 and 18.
