The Border Cats continued their hot-hitting ways in Waterloo. The Northwoods League squad hit double digits for a third straight night, slamming the Waterloo Bucks 10-2 as their late-season charge continued.

The Northwoods League squad hit double digits for a third straight night, slamming the Waterloo Bucks 10-2 as their late-season charge continued.

It marked 10 consecutive losses for the sinking Bucks.

Mikael Mogue’s recent power surge also continued for Thunder Bay, as he hit his third home run of the season and third in the last six days.

Mogues had a 3-for-4 night, driving in two and scoring twice. Grant McDown also drove in a pair, while newcomer Jacob James had a pair of doubles and drove home one.

Canadian Yuji Suzuki went six innings on the mound for Thunder Bay, surrendering two runs on seven hit and four walks. He struck out one.

Ryan Johnson, Malik Jones and Nate Steger each tossed an inning of scoreless relief.

The loss went to Waterloo starter Frank Rubio, who got through five innings, allowing eight runs, just four earned, on nine hits.

The Bucks made five errors on the night.

The NWL takes Tuesday off to host the Major League Dreams Showcase in Madison, Wisc.

Greg Weissert and Johnny York will represent the Border Cats in the early game at 5:05 p.m.
