Robbi Weldon will be coming home from Toronto with a silver medal.

The Thunder Bay cyclist, along with partner Audrey Lemieux, finished second Thursday in the mixed time trial B final at the Parapan Am Games in Toronto.

Weldon and Lemieux completed the 22-kilometre course in 26 minutes and 58 seconds, putting them 11 seconds back of the pace set by Canadian teammates and gold medal winners Daniel Chalifour and Alexandre Cloutier.

The medal is the first at the 2015 Parapan Ams for the 39-year-old Weldon, who won four gold medals at the 2011 Parapan Ams in Guadalajara, Mexico. She is also a Paralympic gold medalist, winning the road race in London in 2012.

Overall, the Canadian cycling team captured 14 medals in Toronto which is three more than they claimed in 2011.
