The Winnipeg Wesman erased a first-quarter deficit Friday, but had to hang on in the fourth to hand the Lakehead Thunderwolves a second straight pre-season defeat.

Megan Noonan, among the top scorers in Canada last season, scored 22 points to lead the host Wesmen to the win, while Skylar Boulanger picked up the double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the 71-66 triumph.

Rachel Webber and Blair McNaughton had 13 apiece to lead the Wolves, who hit seven three-pointers on the night.
Lakehead fought back to tie the contest 66-66 with 2:20 to play, but couldn’t complete the comeback.

It was our third game in a row vs Winnipeg and both teams went after each other from the word go. We had almost 100 possessions each, although we were down most of the game we found a way to tie it late, but couldn't finish it off,” said coach Jon Kreiner in a release.
