ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Thunder Bay Queens are returning home from the 23rd annual All-American Girls tournament in Minnesota with a pair of silver medals to their credit.

The peewee Queens fell 6-4 to Proctor-Hermantown Mirage in their championship game while the Tim Hortons bantam A’s were blanked 4-0 by the Centennial Cougars in their title contest with both match-ups played at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Grace Cahill put Thunder Bay in front in the peewee final only to see the Mirage knot the score before the opening frame was complete.

The Queens then went up by a pair with a couple of late markers in the middle stanza as Alessia Ricciardi and Meggie Mallon both found the back of the net.

A strong start in the third saw Proctor-Hermantown storm back however as they struck three times before the final session was three minutes old to erase their deficit and go in front for good.

They added two more later in the period to extend their cushion before Thunder Bay’s Alexis Paddington notched a power play goal in the final minute to round out the scoring.

As for the bantam A Queens, they could not solve the Centennial goaltender and gave up one on the power play in the first, a shorthanded tally in the second and a pair of even strength efforts in the third in defeat.
