Overtime wasn’t in the cards on Saturday night.

In fact, this one was over practically before it began.

A night after dropping a two-point decision to the No. 4 Brock Badgers on the road, the Lakehead Thunderwolves closed out the pre-Christmas portion of their OUA men’s basketball with a decisive loss, falling 84-51 to the Badgers.

Johneil Simpson posted 20 points and Ryan Bennett finished with 18 to lead Brock to the win. Bacarius Dinkins had 13 to top all Thunderwolves, who were held to just 14 points in the opening half.

Henry Tan had 11, the only other Lakehead player to hit double digits.

The loss drops Lakehead to 3-5, while the Badgers jumped to 5-1.
