THUNDER BAY -- The Confederation College women’s curling team is on a roll at the OCAA championships in Thunder Bay.
Meghan St. Amand’s squad won both of its games on Friday, downing Sir Sanford Fleming College 8-4, then following up with a 7-2 win over Niagara College.
The pair of victories improved the local favourites’ record to 3-1, good for a three-way tie with Seneca and Fanshawe, who Confederation College will play in their round-robin finale.
The men’s team wasn’t quite as fortunate.
They lost both their games on Friday, falling 8-2 to Niagara and 7-2 to Mohawk College, and remained winless at 0-5.
They’ll take on Sault College and Sir Sanford Fleming on Saturday.
In the mixed competition, the Thunderhawks lost their only match of the day, ripped 10-3 by Mohawk College.
They’ll conclude play on Saturday with games against Fanshawe and St. Clair.
All action is taking place at Port Arthur Curling Club.
