A monstrous second half from Bacarius Dinkins helped secure a second weekend win for the Lakehead Thunderwolves.
Dinkins scored 17 of his 26 points of the night, helping his team erase a 10-point halftime deficit to down the host Wilfred Laurier Golden Hawks 89-85.
Dinkins completed the double-double with 13 rebounds, his sixth of the season. It was the fourth time in seven second-half outings the Florida native scored 25 or more points.
Henry Tan also had a strong outing for Lakehead, netting 20 points, the fourth time he’s hit for 20 or more. The third-year guard has now scored double digits in 14 of 15 outings in 2015-16 for Lakehead, who improved to 9-6, one game behind second-place McMaster in the OUA Central. Kache Kopec was a force off the bench, with 16 points., including four-of-five from beyond the arc.
Laurier star Will Coulthard managed 21 for the Golden Hawks (7-10).
Lakehead hosts Toronto and No. 1 Ryerson next weekend , their final regular season home games.
