THUNDER BAY - Tyler Kunz's first season with the Lakehead Thunderwolves appears to also be his last.
The Thunderwolves announced Wednesday the defenceman, who just completed his freshman season, informed the program that he will not be returning next season.
Instead, the Whitecourt, Alta. native said he wants to return closer to home and join a team in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.
Kunz recorded six points while suiting up for 33 games with Lakehead.
