THUNDER BAY – A pair of Thunder Bay Border Cats will get the chance to show their stuff in front of major league scouts next month.

Catcher Michael Papierski and first baseman Mitch Bigras on Wednesday were named to the visiting team roster for the first of two Major League Dreams Showcase games on Aug. 9 in Madison, Wisc.

Papierski, who hails from Lemont, Ill. and plays for Louisiana State University, is hitting .319 for the Border Cats in 2016, with two home runs and 16 RBI in 25 games behind the plate.

Bigras is hitting at a .276 clip with six doubles and eight runs driven in.

The visitor’s team in Game 1 features players from Thunder Bay, St. Cloud, Mankato, Wisconsin and Duluth.

The home team’s roster is made up for players from Waterloo, Wisconsin Rapids, Eau Claire, La Crosse and Rochester.

Teams were chosen by a panel of major league scouts and the day includes a full day of workouts in front of the scouts.
