Krista McCarville keeps rolling along in Prince George, B.C.
The Thunder Bay skip stole points in three straight ends on Thursday night, propelling her to an easy 6-3 win over Saskatchewan's Amber Holland in the B-side draw at the Road to the Roar, the pre-Olympic curling qualifier.
McCarville, whose squad gave up an early single in the second, evened the match in the third, then stole singles in the fourth and fifth and nabbed a pair in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead. Holland grabbed two in the eight, but McCarville's foursome responded with a single in the ninth to put the game away.
The prize for the 3-1 Fort William Curling Club team is a Friday date with No. 1 seed Kelly Scott, who was dropped to the B-side draw after losing Thursday to Calgary's Crystal Webster. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. EST.
Webster's win gives her one of the four available spots at next month's Roar of the Rings in Edmonton, the official Olympic qualifier. A win on Friday against Scott would guarantee McCarville's team to a place at the Alberta capital event.
