Mithrush scores first goal for UOIT women's soccer program

Thunder Bay’s Jessica Mithrush has entered the University of Ontario Institute of Technology’s record books.
Taking the ball off a free kick, Mithrush and one-touched it home on Sunday, the first goal in Ridgebacks women’s soccer history to help UOIT to a 2-1 triumph over the University of Windsor.
“Emotions were really high,” said Mithrush, who received the game-ball for her efforts. “Everyone was really excited and we worked hard for it. It wasn’t just my goal, it was the team’s goal.”
