The Thunder Bay Diving Club is challenging residents to take a dive for the Positive Recreation Opportunities for Kids charity group.

The club announced the fundraising event called Do or Dive in order to raise money for PRO Kids. Participants and local celebrities will jump from the platforms at the Canada Games Complex on Nov. 9.

It’s the first time the diving club has hosted an event like this.

PRO Kids co-ordinator Laura Daniele says their portion of the proceeds will assist families who can't afford to put their children in activities.

Businesses can nominate a volunteer to jump from one of the platforms. If $300 is raised participants will jump from the three-metre board, $500 from the five-metre board, $700 from the seven metre board and $1,000 from the 10 metre board.

For more information contact PRO Kids at 625-3212.
