A coaching change and a weekend road split that saw the Thunderwolves take three of four points from Waterloo and Laurier has Lakehead climbing the CIS weekly top 10 ladder.

The Wolves (4-1-1), who dumped coach Joel Scherban last Thursday, jumped two spots in the rankings this week and sit at No. 8 in the nation.

The University of New Brunswick reclaimed top spot from the slumping University of Alberta, followed by Saskatchewan and UQTR.
Western (2-2-0), LU’s opponent this weekend at Fort William Gardens, slipped out of the top 10.

Warden and Board:

Get rid of these bunch of whiny players and grow a backbone.

With the removal of another coach due to spoiled juvenile players, the T-wolves are a team that lacks integrity

Signed a former fan who has seen his last game.

Should they also get rid of all the fans who weren't happy with the coaching?

Yes, the players may have made the statement for Warden and the board.

YET, if you have watch the team grow through the 3 coaches, you would see that the "SYSTEM" that Sherban brought to the wolves, has been grossly ineffective. Think about this...During the game, how many times are the players in front of the visiting teams goalie, how many passes before a power play shot, how many 40 foot passes are attempted in the neutral zone (and broken up) per game and why are we outshot almost every game. The answer is simple poor coaching and poor hockey system implementation. Sherban needed to go , great player (thank you) poor coach.

‘Warden and the Board’ are the ones that caused this mess in the first place, not the players. The players didn’t fire Coach McKee, and they certainly didn’t hire Scherban – that was all ‘Warden and the Board’. The only difference is ‘Warden and the Board’ didn’t have the guts to clean up their own mess – I mean really, how much longer could the charade go on for?

If you want to stay home and sulk that’s up to you, but I’ll be out this weekend cheering on the boys against Western! Go Wolves Go!
