Ryan Thomson has the Lakehead Thunderwolves back to their winning ways.

The LU forward on Wednesday dropped 19 points on the University of Victoria Vikings, including five three-pointers, as the Thunderwolves downed their west-coast hosts 80-71.

Rookie Joe Hart had 15 points in the win, while Ben Johnson and Matt Schmidt each posted a dozen points.

Thomson also had seven rebounds and two assists for Lakehead, who won despite Yoosrie Salhia not making the trip for class-related reasons.

Michael Acheampong led the Vikes with 18 points.

Lakehead heads to the mainland on Thursday for a date with the University of Northern British Columbia in Abbotsford, B.C.
