Keffer, Warkentin win junior curling crowns

Skips Tirzah Keffer and Zach Warkentin are off to the national junior curling championships.

Keffer defeated Sudbury’s Krysta Burns 7-4 in nine ends on Sunday to take the junior women’s title in Sault Ste. Marie.

Meanwhile Warkentin captured the junior men’s crown in an all-Thunder Bay battle in Kapuskasing, defeating  fellow Port Arthur Curling Club skip Kurtis Byrd 7-6.

The national juniors are slated for Feb. 2-10 in Fort McMurray, Alta.
