The Duluth Clydesdales difficulty finding players may finally have caught up to the Superior International Junior Hockey League team.

League president Ron Whitehead confirmed Friday the team will not play Saturday’s scheduled game against Fort Frances or host Dryden on Sunday. Whitehead said talks are ongoing with the team. However, the junior hockey blog, JuniorHockey.com, is reporting the team has folded and an announcement is pending later Friday or on Saturday.

Duluth is just 2-32-2 this season.

Should the Clydesdales fold, it would mark the second team the SIJHL has lost this season. After starting with seven teams, the Sioux Lookout Flyers abandoned ship a few games into the campaign.
