Jessica de Haan came through in the clutch.

The rookie centre hit the winning jump shot Saturday night with 22 seconds left in overtime, handing the Lakehead Thunderwolves an 83-80 road win over the Western Mustangs.

The Wolves and Mustangs split the weekend set.

Katie Ulakovic had a career game for the visitors, scoring 25 points, including five-of-nine from three-point territory. The Mustangs forced overtime with four seconds left when Jenny Vaughan, who led all scorers with 29 points, hit a pair of free throws to tie the game 74-74.

Ayse Kalkan had 17 and Carolyn Fragale added an even dozen for the winning Wolves.

With the win Lakehead improves to 6-7 and a three-way tie for fourth spot in the OUA West, while Western dropped to 7-6.
The Wolves are four points ahead of seventh-place Guelph. The top six teams in the division make the playoffs.
