The Lakehead Thunderwolves women's basketball team has to be hoping their final preseason tune up won't be a sign of things to come in the regular season.
Lakehead fell 69-55 to the Manitoba Bisons in CIS women's basketball in Winnipeg on Sunday, as they closed the Shoot for the Cure Invitational with their third straight loss.
Manitoba was paced by Robin Eyer's game high 18 points, including eight in the second quarter.
The Bisons set the tone of the game in the second quarter, as Manitoba hit the halftime recess with a 38-21 lead.
Katie Ulakovic was the leading scorer for the Thunderwolves, finishing with 17 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Kelsey Bardsley chipped in 14 points, and rookie Blair McNaughton added nine.
Lakehead will open their regular season on the road this coming weekend, playing Queen's on Friday and York on Saturday.
