A well-balanced attack was the key to Lakehead’s strong start a holiday hoops tournament in Toronto.

Brent Wallace scored 16 points, one five Thunderwolves starters to hit double digits in Saturday’s opener at the Ryerson University National Invitational Tournament, powering LU to an 85-70 win over the University of Quebec at Montreal Citadins.

Dwayne Harvey had a dozen points and six board for the Wolves, who also got six points and six rebounds from seven-footer Andrew McCarthy off the bench.

“"Today was a great way to come back after a long break. We had a balanced scoring attack, an area that's key for our success. We need to build on this win and continue to improve each game."

Lakehead takes on Laval on Sunday.
