A pair of Thunder Bay Queens squads had successful mornings in Minnesota.

The First Class Gas bantam AA Queen’s improved to 2-0 at the St. Luke’s Icebreaker Invitational in Duluth with a 7-2 victory against the Prior Lake Lakers.

Alyssa Cicigoi and Kaylee Grosjean each had a goal and a helper in the winning effort, with Madeline Browczuk, Jayda MacArthur, Karadyn Kiviaho, Zoe Hynnes and Emilie Varrin also finding the back of the net.

Makenna Burke picked up the win in between the pipes.

In Grand Rapids, Minn., the Manshield Construction bantam A Queens squeezed out a 4-3 shootout win over the Eagan Wildcats with Ellen Svane picking up the deciding goal in the shootout.

That improves their record to 2-0 as well.

Tia Lampo, Delaney McLeod and Alyssa Piccolo scored in regulation for Thunder Bay while Taylor Glomba backstopped the Queens.

Both teams are in action on Saturday evening.
