Two Thunder Bay Queens squads completed golden weekends in Minnesota.
The Manshield Construction bantam A Queens claimed the Star of the North tournament title in Grand Rapids with a 4-0 championship final win over the host Grand Rapids Lightning.
The crown is the third consecutive tournament title for the team dating back to December.
Taylor Glomba recorded the shutout in goal while Delaney McLeod had the tournament-winning goal. Katrina Cimini added a pair.
Over in Duluth, the First Class Gas bantam AA Queens capped off a perfect record by downing the host Duluth Icebreakers 4-1 in the final of the St. Luke’s Icebreaker Invitational.
Thunder Bay won all five of their games in that tournament, including a 3-2 semifinal win over the Blaine Bengals earlier Sunday.
