A three-goal second period propelled the Thunder Bay North Stars to yet another win Tuesday night.

Zach Grzelewski, Brandon Wolframe and Brandon Kaarela scored a goal apiece in the middle stanza, exploding a one-goal contest and the Stars went on to defeat the Wisconsin Wilderess 5-2.

Cary Brown and Jesse Taylor staked the Stars to a 2-0 lead in the first, scoring 10 seconds apart. Garrett Nelson cut into the Thunder Bay lead at 18:44 of the first, but the Wilderness wouldn’t score again until the third, when Tanner Vinson put the puck past North Stars goalie Eric Mann.

It was the sixth straight Superior International Junior Hockey  League win for Thunder Bay, who have one home game left on their 2013-14 regular-season schedule, a March 1 date with expansion English River.
