WINNIPEG -- The Thunder Bay Chill have started their campaign off on the right foot.

The Chill blanked WSA Winnipeg 2-0 in their Premier Development League regular season opener in Winnipeg on Saturday evening.

Thunder Bay opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when midfielder Declan Rodriguez converted on a corner kick set up by Adrian Crace.

The Chill had a multitude of chances to pick up the insurance throughout the second half before Vitor Huvos finally converted, scoring after a long run in the 84th minute.

Keeper Daniel Alvarado picked up the clean sheet in goal.

Winnipeg falls to 1-2-1 on the campaign.

The two teams face off again on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
