Carson Dubchak will be joined by a familiar face in the Lakehead Thunderwolves dressing room next season.

Younger brother Brennen, who started his junior career with the Thunder Bay North Stars, is the latest recruit announced by the men’s hockey team.

The 5-foot-9 forward led the Espanola Rivermen in scoring last season, tallying 36 goals and 88 points.

He’ll be a good fit, LU coach Bill McDonald said in a release.

“Brennan put up good offensive numbers in junior, but we also need players who have character and are competitive on all areas of the ice,” McDonald said.  “We think he has those qualities.”

The younger Dubchak is looking forward to the family reunion.

“Coming to Lakehead is a great opportunity for me to play with my brother and to be closer to home,” Dubchak said.  “I know it’s going to be a little different now that I won’t be the big fish in a small pond so to speak, but I’m ready for the challenge.”
