The Thunder Bay Border Cats found themselves on the losing end of a doubleheader sweep on Sunday.

Catcher Nick Studer drove in the Cats’ lone run in the opener, a 3-1 loss to the host Mankato Moondogs, a game shortened to seven innings.

In the nightcap the Moondogs exploded for four runs in the first and three more in the third en route to an 8-3 win.

Christian Correa, Jordan Serena and Robb Paller each had RBI singles in the defeat.

With the losses the Cats, who return home Monday night for a one-game affair against Duluth at Port Arthur Stadium, fell to 13-21.

First-half play ends on Monday.
