LONDON - FIFA is considering disciplinary action over blistering comments by Canada's coach and players about the referee after their semifinals loss to the United States in the Olympic women's football tournament.

FIFA says its disciplinary panel is "analyzing incidents that occurred after" Canada's 4-3 defeat after extra time on Monday.

Canada forward Christine Sinclair, who scored all three goals, later said "the ref decided the result before the game started."

Canadian was upset by an indirect free kick awarded against goalkeeper Erin McLeod for holding the ball too long late in normal time.

The resulting passage of play saw the Americans get a penalty which Abby Wambach scored to equalize at 3-3.

Wambach says she counted out loud when McLeod held the ball.

Are you kidding me?
If anything the ref should be the under scrutiny.
Talk about a fixed game.
Canada had the U.S. beat but I am a sure a pay off by the U.S. team to the ref had it swing their way. Those calls are hardly ever made.
They call Solo the best goalie in the world, she can't save a shot when one is taken on her.

This match really left a sour taste in my mouth and more evidence that the mighty dollar is more powerful then sport.
I am sure the gold medal match will swing the U.S. way since Japan beat them in the WC.

Yes bad calls but maybe if Canada did not score on themselves once and actually played some defence rather than turning the ball over to the U.S. regularly they would have won the game regardless.

I don't know much about soccer but I was shocked when I saw that foul called....Canada should have had the game in my opinion....

Have never watched much soccer but did watch the Canada/States game and it seems Sinclair is the only one that has nerve enough to speak the truth. More power to her. Why would another player stand next to a ref and do a count down and why would a ref just smile when asked to explain her actions. What a joke. Plain as day it was Canadas game all the way.
