The best city in Canada to buy real estate is Thunder Bay.
That’s according to MoneySense magazine, which in an article published on March 9 ranked the best cities in Canada to purchase real estate in.

The article notes that the Thunder Bay real estate market has seen prices appreciate faster than any other Canadian city in the last five years.
“While it may seem a stretch for a family to pick up and move to Thunder Bay, just because it ranks No. 1, investors looking for an income property certainly might be curious,” the author writes.
The average price for a home in Thunder Bay in 2015 was $216,000, a price Money Sense notes is incredibly affordable in a city where the average household income is $81,000.
