Electrical Maintenance Technicians
Must have an Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist diploma with a minimum of 3 years Trade experience in a related Industrial environment and/or an Electrical Maintenance Technicians (442A) Red Seal.
Mechanical Maintenance Technicians
Must have a Mechanical Maintenance Technician/Technologist diploma with a minimum 3 years Trade experience in a related industrial environment and/or an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) Red Seal. A 4-position CWB Welding certificate would also
be an asset.
Must have a Grade 12 Level of education or equivalency and possess Ironworker (420A) or (420B) or Metal Fabricator (Fitter) (437A) with relevant experience will be considered. A valid Gas ticket would be an asset and must have a 4 Position CWB ticket.
Must have a valid four-position CWB ticket and S & T ticket or provide proof of having passed four-position CWB and S & T Ticket. Must possess or be able to obtain a 6-G position P1 Stick ticket or other materials as required. Must have one of the following; Welder (456A) or (456P),Construction Boilermaker (428A), Steamfitter(307A) or Metal Fabricator (Fitter) (437A) and relevant experience will be considered. A valid Gas ticket would be an asset.
Must have a current Certificate of Qualification as a Brick & Stone Mason 401A (Red Seal) along with trade experience in a relevant environment. Must be able to plan and layout work, calculate material requirements, and perform all types of bricklaying and masonry work.
Must have a current Certificate of Qualification as a General Machinist 429A (Red Seal) along with trade experience in a relevant environment.
Power (Stationary) Engineers
Must have a valid Ontario (or Interprovincial) Operating Engineers 2nd, 3rd or 4th Class certificate in good standing with T.S.S.A., understand all safety, environmental and operating procedures and PC literacy is required. Successful applicants will be accountable for steam turbines, steam auxiliary equipment, air compressors, blowers, pumps, cooling towers and boilers in all areas of the Utilities Department.
For all the positions above, you must have a minimum of Grade 12, the ability to successfully complete a physical assessment and a general aptitude evaluation. You must also be able to wear a respirator, a Scott Air pack, be comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions. Successful applicants must be able and willing to work on a rotating shift schedule. Must have an understanding of all tools and equipment utilized in the trade and all related safety practices relative to the trade.
