As a Direct Support Professional, at CLA, you can expect to:
Play a key role in the motivational process to help people in living their best lives as a valued member of the community.

•Understand, and support, the importance of each person’s rights to privacy, individuality and independent choices.
•Recognize and nurture the steps to facilitate, develop and enhance meaningful relationships with their friends, families and neighbors.
•Work in a team environment that values advocacy, respect, & accountability.

As a Direct Support Professional, at CLA, you will ensure:
•Quality of Life for people receiving services: facilitate/support people to achieve their goals, hopes and dreams.
•Belonging and being a part of their community: facilitate/support people to attend various activities of their choice in the community. ie. - Volunteer opportunities, education, employment, recreational activities etc.
•Relationships: facilitate/support people to have meaningful relationships in their life, connecting people to their neighbours, developing/enhancing/providing opportunities to make friends.
•Health and safety and well-being of people receiving services: including, but not limited to medication/treatment administration.
•Personal Support: including, but not limited to: partial to full support for a person’s personal hygiene/personal care, lifting, transferring, & attending medical appointments in the community.


•Beginning with Relief/Casual Work, with the Possibility of Moving into Part-Time or Full-Time Work
•Required to Work Day, Afternoon, and Night Shifts
•Expected to Work on Weekdays, Weekends and Statutory Holidays
