About the tour

In the morning you will have time to shop at St. Jacobs Farmers Market, a much-loved tradition. Still home to the largest population of Old Order Mennonites in Canada. We often see farmers on local roads travelling to the market by horse & buggy. Visit the Market to see hundreds of vendors selling a variety of items from food to art, collectables and more. We have lots of room for you to bring a cooler for your purchases.

We will have a lovely made from scratch lunch at Anna Mae’s Bakery & Restaurant. Anna Mae’s is a family owned & operated Mennonite Restaurant and Bakery. They specialize in Mennonite cooking and baking and offer a variety of baked goods. After lunch we will drive to the Hamilton Family Theatre.

Enjoy the matinee performance of Steel Magnolias. This Comedy explores the dynamics of life, love, and laughter in a small-town Louisiana beauty parlour as six southern women learn to embrace the future – and all of its uncertainties. Truvy, the outspoken owner, dispenses shampoos and free advice to her clients, who gather each week to talk, gab, gossip, chitchat, needle and harangue each other through the best times – and cry, comfort, caress, and repair each other through the worst. These women are true steel magnolias: southern belles who are flowery on the outside but strong enough on the inside to survive any challenge. Charming, witty, and delightfully entertaining, Steel Magnolias is a bittersweet comedy that reminds all of us that life is a precious gift to celebrate.

We look forward to spending the day with you!
