We represent a company in the transportation sector that is seeking a Manager of Finance to lead all finance & accounting activities. This is a full-time position based in Thunder Bay.
The Manager of Finance will report to the President of the company and be responsible for the following:
Work with internal organizations to ensure accurate reporting and entry of Revenues, Direct and Indirect Costs. Prepare monthly and quarterly actuals reporting & reconciliation, including timely closing of books and reconciliations. Daily review & entry of bank transactions into the general ledger, as required.
Working with the accounts payable team, ensure all supplier invoices are recorded accurately for payment within terms.
With the accounts receivable team, manage the timely collection of accounts receivables, provide support for the team as required, and prepare month-end and year-end reports, in an effective and timely manner.
Manage the payroll system, ensuring all employees are paid on time and that withholdings and remittances are accurately managed.
Perform HST filings and communicate with the CRA regarding compliance. Act as the financial liaison with the Company’s lenders.
Working with the President, provide reliable and timely management information, insights, and analyses to support business decision making. This will include conducting various financial activities in the areas of budgeting, modeling, forecasting and reporting.
Support the President by providing revenue/margin/pricing analysis on customers, projects and products.
Essential skills, qualifications and abilities include:
A professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CPA, CA).
Five years of financial management experience, including two years post designation.
A high level of technical skills and strong business acumen.
Excellent technical skills in QuickBooks, Excel and other applications.
Initiative, outstanding analytical and communication skills, and attention to detail.
