Thunder Bay Police Services officers with the Cyber Crimes Unit began an investigation into activity involving child pornography on Oct. 1, 2019.
An investigation revealed that files – videos and images – consistent with child pornography had been uploaded from a local Internet user on Sept. 17, 2019.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, police were able to obtain and execute a search warrant of a home in the 100-block of Jean Street.
Devices were seized and an accused individual was arrested as a result of this search.
Yeraldy ALEMAN CORTEZ, 37, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
The accused appeared in court Saturday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
