Geraldton fire destroys Courtesy Freight building (2 Photos)

The Courtesy Freight transfer station burned to the ground.

GREENSTONE, Ont. — Fire has destroyed a trucking company's transfer station in the Greenstone community of Geraldton.

The blaze at Courtesy Freight Systems was discovered at about 3:00 a.m. Monday.

Its cause is unknown.

Geraldton firefighters responded to the alarm but the fire was too advanced for the structure to be saved.

In fact, the damage is so extensive that the Office of the Fire Marshal will not send an investigator to do an on-site inspection.

A spokesperson told tbnewswatch.com that in this kind of situation, there is little hope of pinpointing the origin of the fire.

At least one truck that was inside the building was destroyed.

An official at Courtesy Freight's head office in Thunder Bay was not immediately available for comment Tuesday morning on what other property was lost in the blaze.
