Gull Bay teen charged in vicious assault

GULL BAY FIRST NATION – A 15-year-old Gull Bay First Nation youth has been charged in a vicious assault that took place Sunday in the Northwestern Ontario community.

The accused, a male, cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Armstrong Ontario Provincial Police say they received a call reporting an assault at about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim was found unconscious and transported to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with non life-threatening injuries.

The accused has been charged with assault causing bodily harm. He appeared in court on Sunday and has been held in custody since that time.
