TORONTO – Newly elected MPP Judith Monteith-Farrell has a new role within the Ontario NDP hierarchy.
The rookie legislator on Thursday was named the party’s natural resources and forestry critic, when Opposition Leader Andrea Horwath rolled out her slate of critics.
Sol Mamakwa, the first politician elected in the new riding of Kiiwetinoong, was named Indigenous relations and reconciliation critic, while Algoma-Manitoulin’s Michael Mantha inherited will oversee northern development and mines.
Horwath will take on intergovernmental affairs.
In total the NDP named 39 MPPs, plus herself, to critic portfolios.
