OPP investigating yellow-down death in Fort Frances

A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged with trafficking and possession after two people were rendered unconscious by the drug.

FORT FRANCES, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police in Fort Frances have arrested a 50-year-old man after a 62-year-old died of an apparent drug overdose.

Police, in a release issued on Wednesday night, said 62-year-old Wayne Comigan died after ingesting a yellow-coloured drug. It was one of two incidents that left users unconscious. He later died.

Scott Foster, 50, has been charged with trafficking in a Schedule 1 drug (opioid), possession of a Schedule 1 drug for the purpose of trafficking and possession of another Schedule 1 drug for the purpose of trafficking.

Police issued a warning about the drug, known as yellow down, noting others have also died as a result of ingesting the narcotic.
