Pet chip-a-thon to be held April 1

Dogs and cats welcome, but owners must preregister for event.

THUNDER BAY – The city’s Animal Services department is hosting a chip-a-thon for local pet owners and their animals.

Dogs will be micro-chipped from 10 a.m. until noon on April 1, while cats and dogs will be eligible between noon and 1 p.m.

The cost is $35 for the first animal, with a $30 charge for each additional pet.

Appointments must be made by March 27, along with payment.

The event will take place at the Animal Services centre at 882 Alloy Dr.

Pet licences will also be available on April 1. For more information, phone 684-2156.
