Two seriously injured following highway crash

Charges are pending following a highway crash that sent several people to the hospital.

(KENORA, ON)  Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) and Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are continuing their investigation into a two vehicle collision on Highway 17 west of Keewatin.

At 2:24 pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 OPP were notified of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 17. 

Police, Kenora Fire and Ambulance attended and three people were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.  

Two people were extracted from two different vehicles using the Jaws of Life.

The male driver of the eastbound car and female passenger of the westbound pick-up truck remain in hospital with serious injuries. 

The highway was closed for several hours for investigative purposes and removal of vehicles.
