THUNDER BAY - A sentencing date will be set for a Thunder Bay woman facing fraud charges on Thursday.

Elaine Michano, 39, was sworn in three charges on Monday, May 25, by Justice of the Peace Jennifer A. Neill by audio in Thunder Bay court.

Michano faces one count of knowingly using a forged document as if it were genuine and one count of fraud not exceeding $5,000. The offences are alleged to have occurred on Feb. 10.

Michano also faces one count of breaching a previous probation order.

Duty counsel Aranka Golphy spoke on behalf of Michano’s counsel, Leon Nicol, who requested his client’s matter be put over to Thursday, May 28, to set a date for sentencing.

Details of the alleged offences will be read into the court record during Michano’s sentencing.
